Antique cider glass for sale. Circa 1775

Do you wanna buy a cider glass?

It's an antique... Circa 1775, $3350.00

Below is a product description excerpt from the Leslie Antiques Ltd. website where that and a ton of other really great antique glass can be found.

"A beautiful and extremely rare cider, or cyder, glass, featuring an elongated funnel bowl with very fine engraving of the word "cyder" and a fruiting bough with apples and leaves. The stem is surmounted with a double collar and contains a single series air twist (SSAT) with a 5 ply band. The form of this glass, combined with the rarity of any true cider glass, make this a highly desirable specimen."

It's interesting how various drinks seem to evolve specific glassware shapes. Wonder how typical this shape was for traditional cider, and if so, why?
Reminds me of my Pilsner glasses, which do work well for enjoying fine cider. But I'm even more partial to cabernet wine glasses.
